Your Money Your Goals Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer “Your Money Your Goals” a train the trainer workshop on Tuesday . The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 4:00 p.m. The training will be held at the Parker County Extension Office which is located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford. Finances affect nearly every part of life in America. But many people feel overwhelmed by their financial situations and they don’t know where to go for help. Frontline staff and volunteers in financial institutions, social services, legal assistance, community and faith-based organizations and worker organizations are in a unique position to provide that help to their clients by sharing information and tools that help to build financial empowerment. When staff and volunteers are equipped to initiate basic discussions about personal money management and connect the people they serve to qualified counselors and coaches, new pathways to financial empowerment are created. The one day training will go over the tool kit and provide information for front line staff and volunteer who work with clients and consumers to: • Make spending decisions that can help them to reach their goals. • Decide if they need a checking account and understand what they need to open • Order and correct credit reports. • Avoid tricks and traps as they choose financial products. • Make decisions about repaying debts and taking on new debt. Organizations and individuals attending the training will receive a 300 page tool kit for them to take back to use with their clients. The cost to attend the training and to receive the toolkits is $10.00. Continuing education hours are being offered for those needing it for an additional $10.00.
